Reasons why NOT study computer education in Philippines

Some/Many computer schools, colleges and universities in Philippines

  • are teaching and using pirated software, therefore IMMORAL.
  • are income-generated having very expensive tuition fees.    
  • dont support the learning of the students.
  • dont follow the trend in information technology.        
  • have courses that are NOT ladderized.
  • are NOT accredited.

Some/Many computer teachers, instructors and professor in Philippines

  • dont know what is software licensing.
  • no practical experience qualified to teach.
  • can't differentiate between computer science from information technlogy and engineering.
  • dont know the real meaning and application of Computer Science.    
  • do NOT program    (teaching programming w/o doing programming?).
  • lacks practical training.
  • used pirated software instead of Free and Open Source Software.
  • teach only what they know instead of studying further for their students.
  • dont teach the standard.

 

To the accredition agency, be fair enough. Do your job.

I know that there are schools, colleges and universities in Philippines that were recognized as Center of Excellence and Center of Development in Information Technology by Commission on Higher Education. That's awesome but I hope CHED are doing the right thing.

To my friends in academe, (I know and) I hope you're part of BETTER COMPUTER EDUCATION in Philippines. I know that you are all great and your doing your job. I thank you for that. The upcoming generations will thank you for that!!!

Never knew all that, I do not live in the philies but those courses must be filled with people who have done no research. Whenever I was interested in a course I checked the internet about how it was.

A must read for all of those aspiring I.T. students.
